Amélie at the Opera

At Amélie at the Opera, memorable experiences await in every price range.

Welcome

A dining experience before the opera performance

Amélie is a modern Danish brasserie in the heart of one of Denmark’s most iconic cultural venues. A place where classic French craftsmanship meets seasonal Danish produce, and where gastronomy, art, architecture and people merge into one complete experience.

The restaurant was created from a desire to make the Opera even more vibrant and accessible—for opera guests, locals and international visitors alike.

The name Amélie was chosen as a tribute to the meeting of the French and the Danish, the popular and the elegant. At the same time, the name draws a poetic line to Amalienborg and the historic axis of which the Opera is a part. Amélie is led by Restaurant Manager Mikkel Borgstrøm and Head Chef Chris Lindegaard, who share the ambition of creating a place where guests feel just as welcome to drop in for a spontaneous glass of wine and dinner as they do for a complete experience before a performance in the auditorium.

In the kitchen, the foundation is the classic brasserie: precise craftsmanship, deep flavours and respect for the season. In the restaurant, it is all about attentive hospitality and experiences you can truly feel. The result is a place where Danish produce, an artistic atmosphere and gastronomic quality come together with views of the harbour, Amalienborg, the horizon and the performing arts.

Part of LOCA

Amélie is part of LOCA—which also operates DOLORES, PAULA, RADIO and KILDEN in the garden at Tivoli. Common to all the restaurants is that ingredients with provenance and respect, responsible supplier choices, and local sourcing as a matter of course are fundamental conditions. Our restaurants and the food we serve must make a difference. For you as a guest. For our colleagues. For nature and for the future.
